Oak Park Spring Break Camp
March 25-29, 2019

Location: All winter, spring break and summer chess camps will be held at the Grace Episcopal Church located at 924 Lake Street, Oak Park, Illinois 60301 (The Parish Hall, on the west wing at the end of the parking lot)

Early Entry Fee:  $225 for a one week camp, $130 for half-day options (9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm)

Regular Entry Fee (After March 1): $250 for the full week, $140 for any full-week half-day options or any two-day options

Spring Break and Summer Chess Camps Details:

  • Camps run on weekdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily (half-day options are 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm)
  • Extended hours available upon request
  • Open to K-12 of all ability levels
  • One tournament per chess camp with chess related prizes or trophies/medals
  • All campers will receive daily lunch in Oak Park Camps
  • Other activities include blitz/bughouse, sports at a nearby park, teambuilding, and fun!

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Early Entry Fee (June 1):  $275 for a one week camp, $140 for half-day options (9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm)

Regular Entry Fee (After June 1): $300 for the full week, $150 for any full-week half-day options or any two-day options

Top 5 finishers in the State Championship will receive 25% off the entry fee of the camp! If your child is already registered for the camp and finishes top 5, they will be refunded with the discount via Paypal.

All participants must bring their own lunch.

Come to Vegas for Spring Break! Parents can soak in the fun energy Vegas has to offer, while their children attend a chess camp. There are several activities to keep the children engaged and entertained throughout the 3 days. The children have the opportunity to learn chess, see free Circus acts, and access to all that Circus Circus, Las Vegas has to offer! Chess has been linked to many cognitive benefits, academic success, lifelong friendships, and invaluable networking. Most importantly, FUN!!

Camp Dates: April 9-11, 2020 Time: 12:30p-6:30p daily (Circus Circus meeting rooms)

Early Entry Fee (by August 1, 2019): $300 for 3 days, $250 2 days, $135 a day.

Regular Entry Fee (before Dec 1, 2019): $330 for 3 days, $280 for 2 days, $150 a day

Late Entry Fee (after Dec 1, 2019): $360 for 3 days, $310 for 2 days, $170 a day

Hotel: We will have a group rate of $27 for Thursday, April 9 and $69 a night for both Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, (rates are net, plus resort fee and tax). All families registered for the camp, will receive a group code to make reservations online. Hotel must be reserved by March 26, 2020 to secure group rate.

Lead Camp Instructor: United States National Master William Aramil
Author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Chess Openings. William was the 2002 and 2003 Illinois High School Champion and the 2003 Denker National High School Champion. In 2004, he won the collegiate section of the K-12/ Collegiate Championship. Trainer of the 2011 and 2013 Whitney Young High School State Champions and several individual State Champions and top finishers over the last decade!

Camp Details: (Other Masters and titled instructors to be added based on registrations!)

• Hours of daily instruction, tournament style and notated chess games
• Free Circus Acts
• 5pm dinner included (and one snack during the camp)
• Access to the Circus Circus Midway, Adventuredome, and Splash Zone – pools and water slides (attractions subject to availability, minimum purchase requirements and weather) access to Splash Zone is included in daily resort fees.
